NYK Offers Aid to Victims of Sendai Earthquake and Tsunami

15 March, 2011

The NYK Group offers its condolences to the victims of the Sendai earthquake and tsunami, and the company's wishes for a quick recovery of the area.

On March 14, NYK created the Great Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake Task Force headed by NYK president Yasumi Kudo and decided to make a donation of 50 million yen in response to the earthquake to aid the people of this area. Furthermore, the NYK Group has started to collect donations from employees within the group in support of relief activities within the quake-stricken area.

NYK is also examining various means to help through use of the company's ocean, land, and air transport network. More concrete details will be released at a later date.
